Research On Report Of Homosexuality On Southern Weekend

The homosexuals, existing for a long time, from an anonymous state to a prevalent one, are a group of people who start to defend themselves against discrimination. Homosexuality has become a public discourse. In recent years, homosexuals all around the world have appealed to the public for the tolerance, respect and proper protection by striking on the street, which drew national and social attention and won support from society. Though the reports on homosexuality accelerated, there are different focuses.The thesis, will research into the homosexual-related reports on Southern Weekend during2004to2013, and then analyzing the overall condition, contents involved, images and news resources about these reports to get the topic features. Based on that, I will research the subject context, narrative strategy, the peculiarity of discourse construction, and the problems on text analysis. Lastly this paper will scrutinize the correlation between report of homosexuality on Southern Weekend and social context.The survey in this thesis shows that the homosexual-related reports on Southern Weekend place emphasis on "homosexuality rights", and have "human-oriented" and "constructing the public space of discussing on homosexuality" characteristics which are the result of the interaction of the homosexuals obtaining the right to discourse and the interwork among Southern Weekend, academic discourse and official discourse.
