In this paper, as a study object Shuangqiao District Forestry Bureau of ChengdeCity, Hebei Province, the actual work of the forest resources information managementclosely integrated analysis through GIS development trends and GIS application statusin the management of forest resources at home and abroad, to determine the use ofcomponents GIS development and C/S mode as the system architecture framework.On the basis of analyzing the business needs through research study, the map display,the scaling translation, attribute query, spatial query, data update, thematic mapproduction, statistical reports, and three-dimensional browsing as a system to have thefunction. Finally, Microsoft Visual Studio2008Net development platform, C#as theprogramming language, using ArcGIS Engine component GIS development tools, theuse of the organization and management of ArcSDE and SQL server spatial database,using ArcGIS controls to create a user interface with ArcGIS Engine class libraryexpansion program data update function, using the mathematical model, the functions ofthe system.The system attributes of the forest resource data and geographic data from bothspatial and attribute query, retrieval, and analysis of real-world objects, and the resultsare accurate, intuitive vividly expressed achieve organic integration data storage,management integration, the use of the system, the county forest resources managementdepartment basic GIS operation, operation of day-to-day operations of processing smalldata file updates, provide an important basis for scientific and rational operation andmanagement of forest resources.Shuangqiao District, Chengde City forest resources information managementsystem for the design and practice show that the use of self-development componentGIS development tools ArcGIS Engine, flexibility this way, can be developed for theneeds of users to develop applications program, only be able to use ArcGIS basicfunctions and dataformats, and can be run separately from the ArcGIS Desktop professional softwareenvironment, and also be able to meet the needs of primary forest resource managementsector, which is a small investment, quick results, the establishment of the local forestrydepartment forest resources information management system for effective solutions.
