At present, with the rapid growth of integration and integrated circuit technology, the powerdissipation problem becomes the major obstacle to the development of integrated circuit, at thesame time the reliability of the circuit output signal is an important criterion for circuit analysis, and reducing the IC chip energy loss become the primary goal of the research and exploration. Inrecent years, research on adiabatic circuit is gradually coming out. The adiabatic circuit uses thegradually changing power clock signal, so it can recover a part of the circuit energy to reduce thecircuit energy consumption. Besides the use of adiabatic circuit, in recent years, the circuit powersupply voltage has also become research focus. So because of its obvious effect on decreasing thepower consumption of the circuit, the near threshold technology, which is used to reduce thesupplied voltage, is regarded as the valuable research object in today’s integrated circuit design. In this thesis, I analyze the input and output signals of the circuit response, which can guidethe circuit to improve the design, and make the improved output signal of circuit to match thedesired output response. Based on this structure and the circuit of the adjustment circuit, I make toimprove the threshold value to improve the reliability of the output signal of the circuit so as toachieve the required output response and to be satisfied the mini energy consumption of the circuit.I improve circuit width to length ratio and improved circuit structure in the different adiabatic logiccircuits, and propose several new structure of circuits to making more consistent with the desiredoutput response and adapt to different voltages of different performance requirements. I make theexamples of the counter circuit with timing and combination adder circuit, their simulation resultsin a low voltage condition still make the circuit work with a certain frequency. According to thissubject, the content of this thesis is organized as follows:First, based on deeply understanding of the near threshold technology and time delay andpower characteristics of the traditional CMOS circuit by constructing model in traditional CMOScircuit, suitable traditional CMOS combination and sequential circuit was designed for nearthreshold technology to determine the feasibility about the near threshold technology used intraditional CMOS design and to ensure the reliability of the circuit output signal. Then, the basic principle of adiabatic circuit was introduced in this thesis, I research differentof the input and output signal between the conventional circuit and adiabatic circuit. By using bothtwo adiabatic logics (CPAL and CAL) to design circuit, while combining with the traditional CMOS circuit design ideas, adiabatic circuit structure adapted to the near threshold technology wasdesigned. The CPAL and CAL adiabatic logics was used to designed combination and sequentialcircuits respectively, and the minimum voltage of the circuit and relative working frequency whichcan make the circuit work was measured.Furthermore I go to research the input and output signals of the characteristics of the circuit, and increase the threshold to improve the reliability of the output signal of the circuit. Finally, in order to further reducing the energy consumption, power control technology anddouble threshold technology were used with the near threshold technology, what’s more, CPALadiabatic logic circuit structure was also improved to get better circuit performance. At the sametime, the double threshold technology was used to further reducing the power consumption of thecircuit, to realize the main purpose of lowering energy consumption.
