A scene matching guidance radar is typically used for terminal guidance, canrealize accurate positioning on the target, and ultimately help weapons destroy thetarget. Thus it can be seen that radar performances directly affect the positioningaccuracy and furthermore, influence the weapon system efficacy. So it is veryimportant for radar test before it’s assembled. This topic researches a certain type ofradar test system of different stages, to test various parameters of radar, ensuringthat radar is stable and reliable.In this paper, we first analyze test methods and technologies for radar, and thenanalyzed the test demands of the test system. Then we adopt the method ofdecomposition step by step, and virtual instrument technologies, to build the overallscheme of the testing system. This test system can realize power controlling,working status monitoring, controlling of inertial navigation platform and targetsimulator. It consists of measurement and control platform, PCI-1553B card,RS-422interface card, remote-controlled power supply, inertial navigation platform,target simulator and simulation of flight control unit. The system is small andlightful in appearance. While designing hardware, we introduce DSP and FPGAcombination, signal preprocessing circuit, large current processing circuit, electriccontrol circuit, and1553B interface card’s hardware. The software of radar testsystem is developped on LabWindows/CVI2010. This software platform optimizesWindows multithreading and multi-core techniques, otherwise it can significantlyimprove software execution efficiency by means of multi-cores PC. With the helpof its unique VISA technology, programmer can realize the driver ofself-developped card easily and cost less and even save more time. The systemsoftware is mainly composed of instrument driver software and several functionmodules. The modular and hierarchical ideas introduced on software design hasgreatly increased the universality and portability of test software.The test results show that the testing system meets the demands of testing tasks.In addition this test system has good expansibility.It’s easy for us to add more functions only by changing some program codes. Otherwise it’s convenient tomaintan and easy to operate.
