The MIL-STD-1553B,issued by the U.S.Department of Defense during the late 1970s,was first used in the field of military aviation data bus, mainly used in where information transmission between the terminal, through digital channels. Today, with the development of the bus, it has been used in military platform and important areas of industrial control; therefore, monitoring system for 1553B bus will be very important and necessary.In this paper, design a multi-function monitoring for the 1553B bus system using FPGA technology. In the first place, describes the design's background, meaning and key technologies, for example, 1553B data bus communication protocol and programmable logic device development process. Secondly, according to function of the system, use the standard hardware description language to design of unfiltered monitors, data collection terminals and error code generator respectively. Thirdly, with the design requirements for device selection, and design circuit about of FPGA, 1553B bus modem and USB interface. Using Altium's professional design software, draw the PCB diagram of the system, complete system hardware design. Finally, test the system by the oscilloscope and Signal Tap II, and lists a summary of the design's entire and prospect.Thus, the design of the monitoring system for the 1553B bus on FPGA has been completed, author use some tools test the system, the results illustrate the design is successful. With the extensive application of the 1553B bus, more and more people will be pay attention to the monitor and test of the1553B bus system.
