As a core component of a weapon, the terminal guidance radar plays a crucialrole in the whole weapon system. In order to ensure the regularity and reliability ofthe radar, it must be tested on the various parameters of the performance when it isin the development and production process. In order to test its ability to detectmoving target, it need to make a simulator experiment on capturing a dynamictarget. Therefore there is a task that a test equipment for the terminal guidance radarto design immediately.This topic of the paper that is a design of a project which is aground test equipment for the terminal guidance radarin order to supply scientifictest security when the radar is in the R&D and production process.According to detailed analysis on the test requirements of the radar in thepaper, there is a final blue print that determines the PXI/CPCI bus test equipment asthe core in test system for the radar with the latest technology of testing radarclosely. In this whole system, an embedded PXI controller as the core control unit,which control nine PXI/CPCI boards matching some accessory constitutes a part oftest hardware in the entire radar test system. Nine hardware function boards includethree PXI medium speed data acquisition module, two PXI low speed dataacquisition module, the one PXI1553B timing communication module, one CPCIRS422asynchronous serial port communication module, one CPCI motor controlmodule and one CPCI power supply module for signal transfer communication.Equip two LXI program-controlled power supply,1signal transfer combination and1testself combination and moving target on a cross appliance. Through the testwith the radar, it meeted the basic performance indicators of redar fully and realized1553B communication between radar and radar test system to control and monitorthe radar, in the same time, established a simulation experiment environment fordyamic target test to the radar.In the chapter of hardware design, the paper focuses on self-developmentmodule-motor control module. In order to test the radar’s ability to detect movingtarget, the motor control module controls a horn antenna which is a microwave emission antenna of a target simulator on the motor bracket to move on the X-Ycoordinates. In this way, we can fully verify the radar’s ability to detect, intercept,capture and track the dynamic target. And the design of software of the subaerialtest equipment for the radar is as a core part of the whole system. WithLabWindows/CVI as development platform, the software scientificly applys thetechnology of virtual instrument, VISA and multi-threaded to guarantee smoothly torun, easily to maintain and scalablity to do on the basis of meeting testing needs ofthe radar.Through the commissioning of subaerial test equipment for the terminalguidance radar, we can get the conclusion that it meets testing its needs.
