With the development of urbanization in our country, a large number of projectsare under tight construction. Tower crane plays an important role in the engineering, soit was widely used. However, the environment that the tower crane works in is complex.If the driver does not pay enough attention to the around, accidents such as collisionmay occur. At the same time, it is hard for the safety-managing department to real-timemonitor both the running state of tower crane and the drivers effectively. Whether thedriver obeys the driving rules almost only depends on the drivers’ consciousness, andthese bring turble to afety-managing department and may pose security risks toconstruction.The crane tower safety monitoring system to be developed which involvestechnically the Internet of Things, embedded software, sensor, and softwaredevelopment. Base on MSP430F5438A platform, algorithms and software of the systemwas completed. The content of this thesis is as follows:Firstly, according to the function requirements and the operational features of thetower crane, the overall block diagram and the function modules of the embeddedsoftware are designed.The embedded software including8main module,they are dataacquisition and processing module, data and image display module, towers-groupcollision preventing module, anti-collision module of protected areas, towers-groupnetwork communication modules, online monitoring platform communication modules,configuration monitoring software communication modules and data storage module.Secondly, algorithm and it’s characters of Ad-hoc network data interactionbetween the towers, algorithm and it’s characters of tower group prevention collision,algorithm and it’s characters of anti-collision/cross-border in the protected areas are allstudy and analyze.The reason of choose which method is given.Thirdly, the software was programmed to achieve all the systematic function,including sensor data acquisition, processing, displaying, and transmission to the onlinemonitoring platform by GPRS. Data storing and reading by using idle FLASH of the FM25H20ferro-electric and MSP430F5438A also be studyed. Fingerprint dataverification, transmission, storage, synchronization, wireless parameters setting,voice and indicator alarm function are all studied too.After all, the software development was finished,and pass the laboratory testingand the field testing. All result shows this software could well realize the settingfeatures, and reach the predetermined target in both accuracy and speed.
