In order to improve efficiency, it always needs to set up several cross tower cranes in small quarters, and this causes collision possibility between these cranes, so preventing tower cranes from collision and improving construction safety become the attention focus recently. This paper regards the collision question between tower cranes as backdrop, and presents a tower cranes anti-collision system which is composed of the establishment of multi-agent system based distributed tower cranes anti-collision system model, hardware and software structure analyses, communication and anti-collision algorithm research as well as long-range monitoring software design.Multi-agent system theory is introduced into distributed structural engineering field, and multi-agent system based tower cranes anti-collision control model is established. Meanwhile, function module of signal agent is analyzed and communication mechanism of multi-agent is established. Based on semi-duplex wireless communication, the communication model that broadcast combined with Token-Ring is used in the system. The fault diagnosis and recombining of communication internet are realized via the change of the role in course of multi-agent interaction, so as to anti-jamming of wireless communication is come true and the uncertainty of practical work time is satisfied.The function command of state inspect and control output are analyzed, and PC104 bus based increased rotary encoder count board is deigned, so that the system hardware based on PC104 embedded system is established. Meanwhile, the system software which uses idea of parallel operation and modularize frame is designed. The software has two flow based database: communication flow and data sampling and operation flow, two flow work time-shared make the system fast and real-time. Modularize frame is used in software design, each module accomplishes independent function, so that each module can be designed and maintainedrespectively, which is in favor of next design.In order to solve the problem that static parameters need to be revised, PC based monitoring software is designed, and long-range monitoring of tower crane's state and remote setting of static parameters as well as parameters'automatic revise are come true.For testing the system performance, the system is used into a building site which has 10 tower cranes. According to the experiment, the feasibility that introduces multi-agent system theory into distributed building site is proved, and the system's speediness and anti-jamming are qualified for the piratical need.
