Torque measurement is an important method to study large mechanicaltransmission system’s dynamic characteristics under various loads and workenvironment, it attach great importance to more experts and engineer technician. Withthe development of torque measurement technology, though many torque sensors aredeveloped, but there’s still no effective detection scheme in the face of harsh workenvironments such as high temperature, strong vibration, strong electromagneticinterference etc. Therefore, many experts and scholars commit themselves to develop anew torque sensor and measurement system both at home and abroad.The paper is part of the research content of the NSFC project “Research on theprinciple of the ring-space array based on the spherically symmetric and the principal ofelectromagnetic induction” and the project of Natural Science Foundation of Chongqing“Research on dynamic characteristics of mechanical transmission system under extremeenvironment”. Based on the analytical investigation of actual domestic and internationaldevelopment condition of dynamic torque measurement of mechanical equipment underharsh environments, and according to working needs of the ring-space array sensorunder high humidity, high temperature, strong vibration, strong corrosion and otherextreme environment, and combine with the sensor’s work principle and output signalcharacteristics, we comes up with a new torque measurement system based on thering-space array sensor, the non-contact torque measurement system can apply tomechanical transmission spindle under extreme environment dynamically, and carry onthe design and research systematically.Firstly, the discussion and analysis of ring-space array sensor’s basic structure andworking principle, and software and hardware of data acquisition system is studied anddesigned, it mainly includes circuits of signal conditioning, each module of hardware ondata acquisition board, and the design of software and serial communication and so on.Above all, we use multiple correlation method to extract the signal phase difference andrestrain noise interference, so the precision of phase difference is improved and abilityof interference suppression is enhanced.Secondly, software platform is building by using LABVIEW virtual instrument.Connection of LABVIEW software and the system’s serial driver is seamless by usingdynamic link library, and we also use multiple software algorithm to reduce the signal interference and figure phase difference up, simplify hardware circuit and improvemeasurement accuracy. furthermore, a humanized human-computer interface wasdesigned with which can set sampling parameters, display real-time waveform,real-time data process and other functions, it also has functions such as data storage andhistorical data recall that is convenient for local data sharing and remote transmission.Finally, we set up a torque experimental measurement platform for systemdebugging and the experiment, so the linearity, sensitivity, repeatability and systemerror of measurement system is analyzing in detail according to the experimental data,and the paper also puts forward some corresponding anti-interference measures. Themeasurement results show that the measurement system has high measuring accuracy,strong anti-interference ability, good reproducibility and so on, it can work stably inextreme environment.
