Torque is a typical mechanical parameter to reflect the dynamic performance of mechanical transmission system. The main parameters to reflect dynamic characteristics of mechanical transmission such as rotor angle, vibration angle and angular acceleration can be fetched by analyzing of torque. Therefore, the measurement of shaft torque has important guiding significance not only on load setting and controlling of drive shaft, but also on intensity design for parts of transmission system and choice of prime mover capacity, which is one of the hot spots at home and abroad now.First of all, for there is no effective method for torque measurement under extreme environment, a new way was putted forward based on the spherically symmetric and the principle of electromagnetic induction, funded by"Research on dynamic characteristics of mechanical transmission system under extreme environment", the project of Natural Science Foundation of Chongqing. The new type of non-contact torque sensor is composed of a magnetic-electric detector and a ring-space array. LabVIEW was used to establish a phase difference measurement system for the sine signal of same frequency in order to achieve dynamic measurement of torque under extreme environment.Second, the impact of ring-space array contained magnetic balls with characteristic of spherically symmetric to the phenomenon of electromagnetic induction was focused on research. The change law of induced voltage was obtained when the mechanical axis is in working. The arrange type of pick-up coils was designed to convert the induced voltage to phase-modulated signal for phase difference measurement, the mathematical model of measuring principle was established. ANSYS was used in model building and electromagnetic analyzing of ring-space array sensor. The feasibility and correctness was validated via dynamic simulation of its working mechanism. Finally, the experimental results show that magnetic permeability of ring-space array changes periodically, which will cause the periodically change of amplitude of induced voltage when the mechanical axis is working. In the distance of a ball diameter, there are four pick-up coils so that the amplitude-modulated signals of induced voltage will be converted to phase-modulated signal through hybrid difference and filtering integration. Using the phase difference measurement system, the torque angle can be obtained to achieve dynamic measurement of torque.
