Waterpower is a mainstay industry, which is unique to national economy construction. Recently with progress of speeding up power competition, the environmental and economical power does not keep up with requirement. At the same time, more scientists and engineers'concern focuses on stability and security of waterpower. Based on the present research situation, a new design for non-contact torque measurement through grating sensor, which is also presented as a result for NNSF project-the research on dynamic character monitor system of turbine . According to the principle of grating torque measurement system, a design of a new optical, mechanical and electric torque measurement for turbine is designed. The torque will be transferred two sine waves through grating torque sensor. It achieves magnifier and filter function by ISP chip. A/D switcher transfer analog signal into digital signal with MCU control. At last, data will be sent PC through serial interface. The system has high precision at regularity and speedup. The system is adaptive all kinds of strong disturbance and wicked environment. In the paper the principle of the grating torque measurement system is analyzed. Based on grating signal anatomy, the author thinks grating and grating signal are the key to the measurement system. We designed a lab equipment and flexible data collection system for torque measurement. The system deals with analog signal by ISP chip not by adjust rheostat. With ISP technology the system realizes signal adjust, ±1 to ±100 magnify multiple and optional and adjustive lowpass filter. Owing to light intensity is definite, A/D chip accomplish conversion from analog signal to digital signal. MCU calculates phase difference and sends data to PC through serial interface. At last we finished debugging and got to lab data. We analyzed error and put forward a method for obtaining better torque measurement.
