In the large-scale mechanical transmission systems, torque as the basic load form of various mechanical transmission shaft, It can assure the production fixture and the assistant systems'safety and well-balanced movement according to the measurement and analyses of the torque. And it is the mostly measure which can improve the system's efficiency. We can obtain the labor status of the transmission system which is analyzed and disposed by collecting the experiment data with the torque measure system. In this way, it can reduce the happening of the accident and make the production safe. So, measurement of the torque is always one of the hot spots which are devoted by many scientists at home and abroad now. The researches of the paper have important science significance and intense application background.For there is no effective method for torque measurement under extreme environment such as high temperature,high heat,strong impact and force erode and so on, funded by"Research on the principle of the ring-space array based on the spherically symmetric and the principal of electromagnetic induction"the project of Natural Science Foundation Of Country and"Research on dynamic characteristics of mechanical transmission system under extreme environment", the project of Natural Science Foundation of Chongqing, the paper advances a new sensor which is based on the spherically symmetric and the principal of electromagnetic induction and composed by the reader head and a ring-space array mostly to measure the torque and makes further research .First, the paper introduces the parts: at first, research the choice of the coupling and drive shaft ;the arrangement of coils within the reader head and the relationship between width of the coils and the diameter of the small nickel-cadmium balls; and analyses the impact of ring-space arrange to the magnetic permeability,mutual inductance and the output voltage of the collection coils within reader head according to the spherically symmetric and the principal of electromagnetic induction. Let the four pick-up coils output voltages induce one amplititude-modulated signals direct ratio with ring-space array's displacement by signals pretreatment electrocircuit within reader head. Permeability electrocircuit includes addition ware,subtraction ware and move-phase ware .When we are going to measure the torque, we will put two sensors on the rotating shaft. So, we will acquire two signals. The difference of phases between two same-frequency sinusoidal signals is the torsion angle. Signals which are disposed with the TMS320F2812's exploitation board to Digital-to-Analog converter make several operations and measure the difference of phases. Then, gains the torque according to the relationship between torque and torsion angle. In that way, we achieve the torque measurement in extremely environment.At last, builds the experiment test plat roof of the ring-space array torque sensor and tests performance of the sensor. The test ending indicates the output fulfills the measurement precision and the character of the real time.
