Research On The Evaluation Indicators Of Literature Resource Structure For University Libraries In China

Numbers of education policies published by Ministry of Education and various changes speeding up in the literature resources environment in recent year, provide both opportunities and challenges for University Libraries. As is known, to optimize literature resources structure continually is core part of the huge job of library literature resources construction. Most library staffs and researchers are caring about such a problem at present, that how to evaluate the literature resources structure of University Libraries, because there isn’t a common evaluation standard with complete and quantitative evaluation indicators in China for this field.The main research task is to build a scientific, objective, quantitative and feasible literature resources structure index system for domestic university libraries, and to do empirical research with enough samples of university libraries. This research is expected to make up the lack of existing research results, also, to provide theoretical reference and practical guidance for the literature resources construction of university libraries in China.This paper mainly contains three aspects:first, analysis of the factors which are affecting the construction of literature resources structure of University Libraries, the tool used in this part is "entity-relationship" graph; second, construction of a complete evaluation standard with systematic, scientific and quantitative evaluation indicators for Literature Resources Structure of University Libraries, with the method of fuzzy analytic hierarchy process(FAHP) determining the weight of indicators; third, empirical research on the evaluation standard with62domestic university libraries as samples, using principal component analysis and Mathematical statistics method, finding out3key indicators and some conclusions of samples’ comparison.The main research methods include literature analysis, questionnaires, quantitative research and contrast analysis. The results of this research include a set of library literature resources construction evaluation index system, which can provide reference of a scientific, standardized literature resources construction mode for domestic university libraries, and some empirical analysis results, which are useful to guide the practical work of University Libraries.
