With its low price, the coal become one of major energy in China now, and plays an important role in the industrial field. However, in recent years, due to the complexity of the underground environment, coal mine accidents happen frequently,which affect China’s economic development and social stability. The price and maintenance costs of current Mine Safety Monitoring System is very high, and it also has the shortcomings of large energy consumption, low scalability, and not compatible with others. Therefore, its penetration is very low.In response to this situation, this paper, based on ZigBee, researches and designs a mine safety monitoring and positioning system, which contains the monitoring of environmental parameters and mine personnel positioning according to the needs of small coal mining enterprises. The main content is as follows:Firstly it compares the short distance wireless communication technology with each other, focuses on the technical characteristics and framework of ZigBee protocol and Z-Stack protocol stack. Secondly, In order to improve the communication distance and the communication quality of the system, it selects a design of CC2530plus CC2591, and uses DS18B20and MJC4-3.0as the temperature and gas sensor. Thirdly, it complete software design by VB language and Z-Stack protocol stack, and proposes an improved RSSI ranging algorithm to improve positioning accuracy. Finally, it verifies the performance of the various aspects of the system by experiment.The system, which has400meters communication distance and the ability to pass through walls, has good effects of the environmental parameters monitoring and positioning, and has practical value.
