The scale of our country's economy is expanding continuously, the constant growth of economy will make the demand of energy be more and more enormous. Coal is possessed of a large proportion in our country's energy supply system, and our country is a country which lack oil, the coal's extraction will be growing constantly for a long period of time in the future.The safety of coal mining has been a difficult problem which plagued the de-velopment of our country's coal industry, the coal mine accidents which occur every year caused serious casualties and loss of assets. I learned that the communication of the existing coal mine safety monitoring system used wired mode through reviewing the development process of coal mine safety monitoring system, the special geogra-phical environment in the coal mine not only make the circuit layout and maintenance are all very negative but also easily cause the presence of monitoring dead space.In the paper, Wireless Sensor Network is applied to the mine safety monitoring system, I design a wireless transmission system for the mine safety monitoring system. The wireless communications of information use the ZigBee technology. The en-vironment parameters which are collected by sensor in the mine are sent out by the routers or the end devices, and ultimately the coordinator gather and deal with the information. The coordinator transmits the information to the ground control center by RS485bus.Firstly, in order to understand Wireless Sensor Network, the paper introduce a little of relevant knowledge about Wireless Sensor Network, and then design the overall structure of the system, clearly point out the each part's function which need to complete. The paper introduce a little of short-rang wireless communication tech-nology and ZigBee protocol stack, and do some simple introductions about the GD8multi-parameter sensor.The hardware circuitry and software program design of the coordinator, the routers and the end devices are the key to the system which can work normally. The system divides the coordinator, the routers and the end devices into multiple modules and describes respectively the hardware design of each module in detail. In the aspect of software design, according the functional requirements of each module, the paper design their own program flow chart, and then design the specific program for each module. The paper design the interface hardware circuit and communication's program flowchart of the RS485bus by learning the knowledge about the RS485bus. Finally, the system was debugged and run.
