With the expansion of the scale of city construction and fast, tower crane plays acrucial role in the modernization of building construction process. At the same time, thetower crane accidents also occur frequently, the accident decrease and increase of towercrane used in the process of safety factor has been the industry to pay close attention tothe major problem. For the tower crane safe operation, coordination, reducing theaccident caused by the economic loss and personnel. Research and development of anintelligent monitoring system of tower crane has important engineering application.This paper studied the technology of tower crane, and on this basis, design anddevelopment of tower crane monitoring system based on ARM.This paper firstly detail the tower crane working principle and control demand,analysis of domestic and international monitoring system of tower crane, summed upthe tower crane monitoring system research and development of key issues. Secondly,design of the tower crane monitoring system. Monitoring system comprises a towercrane based on ARM monitoring device and the monitoring center based on GPRStechnology of PC software. Research has identified the monitoring device of soft andhardware design, and focuses on the study of tower crane monitoring device hardwarecircuit design. Again, based on the GPRS technology in monitoring center of the uppercomputer software design, develop the tower crane control system PC each module andman-machine interface software. The tower crane to achieve real-time monitoring, dataacquisition, alarm and dynamic interface display. Finally, research the fault diagnosisalgorithm of tower crane, The BP neural network method applied to the tower craneequipment fault diagnosis, Based on fault phenomenon on the failure causes rapid andtimely diagnosis.This paper develop the characteristics of tower crane monitoring system, usingGPRS technology and multi sensor fusion technology, The system has real-time data remote monitoring, fault diagnosis and automatic alarm function. The system throughthe scene test run, show that the tower crane control system is effective, feasible. Thesystem of hardware and software for further debugging and improvement, it can bewidely used in practical engineering.
