With the rapid development of the national economy,the tower crane has along boom、the height of the tower、hanging a major、wide acting range, workefficiency higher technical characteristics, has been widely applied in the field ofmodern architecture.However, due to the design defects or illegal operations andother reasons, the incidence of a serious accident tower remains high causingsignificant casualties and economic losses.Therefore, the safety device installed onthe tower crane, real-time monitoring the operation status becomes increasinglynecessary.With the development of sensor and detection technology, the vastmajority of the construction equipment parameters can be transformed intoelectrical signals, and then displayed through the instrumentation.This paper is completed based on GPRS tower crane remote monitoringsystem analysis and study, the hardware circuit and software design. On-linemonitoring terminal using a multi-CPU processing, the main CPU uses the SiliconLab’s C8051F120data acquisition, processing and display; from the CPU collectGPS location information and the CPU data GPRS wireless transmission; storagemodule also uses a separate CPU into a "black box" structure, using software toread. Data were analyzed as the accident after the evidence.On-line monitoring terminal in digital real-time display tower machinerunning status parameters. When the parameter value exceeds the limit value, theterminal can be automatically pre-alarm to alert the operator to prevent misuse,played the role of security protection. At the same time, the parameter data can betransmitted via GPRS wireless transmission ground-based remote monitoring center,the user through the client software to understand the operating status of the site ofthe tower crane, working environment and location information. Illegal operationsraised the alarm, which greatly facilitates the monitoring of supervisory staff on thework status of the tower crane; at the same time, the parameters of the historicalrecords are stored in the database can also be used as an important basis for towercrane accident.Site user feedback shows that the remote monitoring system for the towercrane has a low cost、 good stability、 timing report monitoring data、 regularreporting of monitoring data、 information display and intuitive、 automatic management based on Internet and other characteristics, in order to strengthen thesafe operation of tower cranes to superintend the job provides effective means andmeasures.
