Digital publishing business model of higher education is the Object of study.Thepaper uses the business model theory as the theoretical foundation, then analysis digitalpublishing business models of domestic and international higher education by the fiveelements of business model, and concludes characteristics of business model, andgeneralizes the elements of Sophisticated digital publishing business model of highereducation. In the end, the paper Points out China’s higher education problems of digitalpublishing with some thinking results.In this paper, literature analysis, comparativeanalysis, case study method and the theory and practice of combining research methodsare used to study on the digital publishing business model of higher educationsystematically.The first part describes the background of digital publishing of higher education, andProposes business model is a major problem of publication of the digital transformation ofhigher education.In this section, the paper also has to do the research literature related tothe analysis, more clearly the importance of business models.The second part describes the status of digital publishing for higher education,andproposes the issues including business model On the basis of the proposed development.The third part, introduces nine elements of business model and summarizes the fiveelements combing with the characteristics of digital publishing of higher education.Theyare Value Proposition,Target Customer Segments,Distribution Channels,Partner Networkand Revenue Model.Part IV, analysis typical domestic and foreign higher education publishing businessmodels, including electronic materials, database services, on-demand publishing,servicemodel of Pearson Education and McGraw-Hill.This part summarizes the characteristics ofthe domestic and foreign business models, and describes changes of the highereducation publishing business model in the digital age.Part V, summarizes characteristics of higher education digital publishing businessmodel in the type, level of development, relations with the paper’s publishing as so on, andpoints out the keys to build the digital publishing business model of higher education from the perspective of the elements.Finally, summarizes the concludes. The business model is to the core issue tocomplete the digital transition. Building business models need to consider the value ofdigital products,the needs of university teachers and students,unlocked distributionchannels,stable network of partners and appropriate sources of income. It is worthmentioning to use the needs of teachers and students as a starting point of digitaleducation products, and to provide unique high-quality knowledge services.
