Along with the continuous development of information technology, M-learning and M-reading is gradually popularized in the field of education, and, the Horizon Report published by the "new media alliance" in2010and2011, pointed out that the e-book technology will be mature in the next two or three years, and it means the world will be gradually entered a new era of "paperless books".The e-Textbook&e-Schoolbag demonstration application project has gradually entered the stage of promotion in our country, from the beginning of2009to2013, and as the content resources of e-Schoolbag, e-Textbook developed more quickly than other components of e-Schoolbag, meanwhile, problems emerged associating with the format compatibility, copyright protection, business models, etc., but our country is lack of systematic study in this area.This paper is based on the "national e-Textbook&e-Schoolbag standard thematic group", mainly using the methods of literature research, case study, questionnaire survey, interview and so on. Firstly, the author defined the concept and the basic theory related to e-Textbook; secondly, the author combed the generation and development context of e-Textbook publishing; once again, on the basis of the case study of UK JISC, the author focused on the investigation about domestic e-Textbook publishing status, and, to supplement the survey, the author conducted interviews with some of the typical units for in-depth study, and then, analyzed and tested the previous assumptions according to the results of questionnaires and interviews, to expect to find e-Textbook copyright protection method, better compatibility content format, more convenient and practical production methods and tools; finally, the author was trying to put forward the possible pricing model, sales model and business model for future e-Textbook.This paper was supported by the2011Annual National Social Science Fund Project "study on the e-Textbook publishing and ecological development"(grant number:11AXW001);2012Shanghai philosophy and social sciences planning project "the research of the e-Textbook ecological development"(grant number:2012btq001);2010Ministry of Education Humanities and Social Sciences planning Fund "the research of e-Learning innovatory application in Social computing environment"(grant number:10YJA880148).
