At present, the security situation of our coal industry is not optimistic, and all sorts of colliery accidents still occur frequently. In severe safety production situation, the original coal mine safety monitoring equipment has been unable to meet the increasingly stringent safety needs. Especially, after the new standards were promulgated, the coal mine safety monitoring equipment is put forward higher request. A coal mine safety monitoring system based on TCP/IP and ZigBee agreement is researched and developed with embedded system technology and network communication technology in this paper according to the latest " General technical requirements for Coal Mine Safety Monitoring System " in 2006 . The key technologies, system architecture and functions also get studied. The dissertation's prime tasks as follows:Firstly, A new solution of coal mine safety monitoring system is proposed, which uses ZigBee wireless networks for communication in the mine production scene, and TCP/IP communication between the substations as well as between substations and monitor PC. In this system, The zigbee network uses star structure; Communication mode is master-slave response; The substations are the full-featured devices (FFD) which act as coordinators; The sensors are the streamline function devices (RFD) which act as communication Terminals; The reliable TCP protocol is used for communication between substations as well as between the host and substations, and the client/server (C/S) mode is used as communication mechanism.Secondly, according to the function requirements of the system, appropriate components are selected to complete the hardware circuit design of the wireless gas sensors and underground monitor substation. Then according to the hardware circuit, related applications are designed using modular programming ideas, and the software flow chart is given. The configuration and transplantation of Linux operating system as well as construction of software development environment are also involved in the programming of substations.At last, the PC monitoring software is designed using VB language according to "Coal Mine Safety Monitoring System for General technical requirements". The functions of parameter settings, data storage, manual power outages, gas drainage, feedback settings, abnormal display, analog display, switch quantity display, data query, report generation and print are realized by the software.
