In the background of nationalization of the coal industry in China, coal mine safety production and management relates to the stability and sustainable development of the national economy.In the modernization and intelligent situation of the production management in the coal mine, the building of mine-cars identification and positioning system has a great practical significance.The monitoring of coal mine locomotive has been the weak links in coal production management. Based on the analysis of mine locomotive monitoring technology at home and abroad, for not completing the location task, the paper constructed a ZigBee-based wireless sensor network nodes targeting mine locomotive monitoring system. Firstly, it researched and analyzed the ZigBee technology w based on IEEE802.15.4 wireless communication protocol, compared with other short-range wireless data network technology, such as the Bluetooth, Infrared, Wi-Fi, UWB, NFC. Secondly, it researched ZigBee network topology, protocol stack theory and wireless routing protocols. According to the needs of mine locomotive positioning system, introduced the current sensor network positioning technology, including range-based positioning technology (such as TOA, TDOA, AOA and RSSI) and range-free localization algorithm (such as Centroid,DV-Hop and APIT). Then it designed wireless sensor networks' coordinator, reference and positioning node using TI's CC2430/CC2431 chip, giving the hardware and software design of the different nodes. Finally, it introduced the IAR simulation environment for wireless sensor networks and supporting software,including C51RF-CC2431-ZDK emulator, SPP software, SmartRF04 Flash Programmer and Packet Sniffer,and verified the performance of ZigBee-based wireless sensor networks using Z-Location GUI graphical monitoring software.The wireless sensor networks'characteristics of self-organization, randomly placed of nodes and adaptation to environment exactly meet the application requirements of the mine monitoring system. The simulation results show that, the design of mine locomotive control system based on ZigBee wireless sensor network can be achieved on the underground locomotive track position, more convenient of mine production management, has good practicality and popularization.
