The development of China’s total energy,70per cent of the coal resources, and seen the development of the coal industry, it is very important for our country. The safe development of the coal industry in China is always there, but also a significant risk toChina’s coal industry, for the coal industry to design a reliable andsafe coal mine gas monitoring system for coal mine safety is very important.Based on analysis of the environmental detection of the status quo on coal mine safety, as well as ZigBee technology solutionbased on the detection system of the wireless sensing applications of ZigBee technology for the coal mine safety envir onment for wireless sensor networks, analysis of theobjectives of the system design, functional and performanceindicators, and pointed out the feasibility of the system designand hardware and software platform design requirements and design principles. Research and implementation of the various modules of the ZigBee node hardware design and so ftwareimplementation. Production of specific hardware board from the beginning, and then to the coding and debugging of application soft ware, to build the entire communication module for directapplication development, and then to call the API way. ZigBee network application development time, according to thecharacteristics of the production and application, the protocol stack and some of the dynamic configuration, and then able tomeet the requirements of cost-effective. The entire systemincluding the development of low-power Atmega128L microprocessor module; as well as TI’s CC2420RF chip module;USB module using the FTDI’s FT233BM USB controller chip;SHT1temperature and humidity sensor module and KGS-20gassensor; in TinyOS operating system design module, the TinyO Sembedded ZigBee nodes; network background analysis module,analysis and manage ment of wireless sensor networks andsensor data. And wireless sensor network operating systemTinyOS embedded into the hardware platform, and finally testedthe system, ZigBee wireless communication platform reliability, stability, and transmiss ion distance, the performance parameters of test applications, further improvement of the system basis, and ultimately to achieve a complete and practical system.
