In recent years, The raising trend of China’s coal mine accidents become serious. Thecoal mine safety situation worries us a lot. It’s difficult to manage the underground personin the mine. The outside person fail to grasp the dynamic distribution of the undergroundperson and the working situation in time. It’s hard to positioning the underground personaccurately. Once the accident happens, we are lack of reliable information about theunderground personnel rescue, the efficiency of the disaster rescue is low and the effect isnot ideal. How to make the underground personnel positioning system more perfectly hasbecame a problem which needs solved quickly. According to the shortage of the recentunderground personnel positioning system, this paper studies and designs undergroundwireless positioning system based on ZigBee, combined with environmentalcharacteristics under the mine. It can realize the tracking and positioning of the workersunder the mine, making managers grasp the information, such as specific location andwork status, in order to enhance the effectiveness and reliability of underground personnelpositioning and management. It has great realistic meaning and economic value.This paper studies system architecture and network communication protocol ofWireless sensor network based on ZigBee technology, which refers to large numbers ofliteratures about positioning method. Making use of advantages of close distance, lowcomplexity, low power, low data rate and low cost two-way wireless communicationproperty of ZigBee, Wireless positioning network system is designed, whereCC2430/2431single chip is the core under architecture of ZigBee. The system has theadvantage with a simple structure, small size and portable, low cost, accurate positioning,and can better solve the problem of positioning information of underground workers.The paper makes further research of several typical node positioning algorithms ofwireless sensor network. Their respective advantages and disadvantages are analyzed.Combined RSSI ranging and the DV-Hop algorithm, positioning mathematical model isestablished. The paper uses maximum likelihood estimation method to establish positioncoordinates to achieve precise positioning, and used Matlab software to simulate DV-Hopalgorithm. The papers designs wireless location system which is fit for underground, thegateway, positioning node and reference node hardware and software is designed andtested.
