Being lack of diversification and flexibility, the networking technology of PWE3 nowadays is hardly to meet the requests of the security and accounting of the specific network. And thus its applicability in the complex network environment is not good enough. To solve the above-mentioned problems, the paper discussed the related concepts and current research situation of MPLS PWE3, and then makes a profound analysis on the related technologies and the realization method. Basing on the networking of single-segment pseudowire(SS-PW), the multi-segment pseudowire(MS-PW) networking technology architecture is researched and implemented to improve the flexibility of networking and expand the applicability of PWE3.The architecture for MS-PW is made up of the networking and the redundancy of MS-PW. And the core of the MS-PW lies in the function of routing and forwarding for the SPEs composing MS-PW. The application of MS-PW network can be divided into two methods by the routing method of SPE: static configuration mode and dynamic pw-routing mode. In order to highlight the focus of MS-PW networking, the paper mainly analyzes the process of the signaling for the establishing and maintaining to each types of MS-PW. As for the redundant of MS-PW, the paper then emphatically introduced the notification message and the process after receive the message between two TPEs. In order to verify the realization of MS-PW system, the paper use SmartBits as the simulation tool. The networking and the redundancy of MS-PW is tested in accordance with their own function emphasis. The result of simulation shows that the function of routing and forwarding for the SPEs is correct. So the research and implementation of MS-PW are correct and feasible.In summary, MS-PW networking technology architecture can reduce the complexity and overhead of the network, improve the flexibility and applicability of the network and popularize the technology of PWE3. In the background of the merge of the telecommunication, computer, and cable TV,the significance of the application of MS-PW network is profound.
