ATM Cell Transparent Transmition Based On MPLS L2VPN

Because of the current massive use of IP network, its technology is almost matured. The voice information in 3G network can be transmitted by IP network in cell. The ATM cell transparent transmition is necessary, because the information carried by cell has particular form. The protocol of ATM cell transparent transmition has been made by IETF. This paper realizes the ATM cell transparent transmition according to the protocol. The ATM cell transparent transmition transmits the packed ATM Cells through MPLS L2VPN network.MPLS L2VPN network evolves from ATM, MPLS to MPLS L2VPN. The ATM cell transparent transmition is based on MPLS L2VPN which uses IMA between the CE and the PE. The network between the PEs is a MPLS back-bone. In this kind of network, MPLS L2VPN connects the CEs like an ATM switch. The packets are transmitted through the switch.The ATM cell transparent transmition is implemented with the HUAWEI3COM Comware platform, using C language. The full development includes software requirement analyses, high level design, coding, unit test and system test. The router which realizes this feature is being used right now.
