L2vpn-vpws The Study And Realization

As the size of networks, enterprises, clients and collaborators keeps expanding, the function of traditional enterprise network is obviously insufficient. Current enterprise network calls for more flexibility and security. Recently, VPN, using tunnel technology in which data is transmitted through a tunnel, well supported by MPLS integrating flexibility of IP routing technology and compactness of layer 2 switch as a tunnel itself, is quickly developing and widely implemented for its special advantage.Presently MPLS L2VPN is implemented mainly in two ways: Martini L2VPN based on extend LDP protocol and Kompella L2VPN based on extend MP-BGP. However, Martini L2VPN comes to be our standard and Kompella L2VPN is scarcely used, thus devices supporting MPLS L2VPN is meeting ISPs'demands and device provider is actively preparing for this.Our project based on X project of Harbour Networks Co., Ltd. and focused on hardware and software implementation of MPLS L2VPN-VPWS module. Main contents are as follows:1. Studied MPLS and VPN basic technology, L2VPN-related standard and protocols, the hardware and software system structure of switch based on NP architecture and system architecture of protocol modules started with MPLS modules.2. Analyzed the demand of L2VPN-VPWS and offered an implementation model of VPWS module with which we designed a solution of VPWS module.3. Draw a flow chart of MPLS L2VPN module working principle, including data stream forwarding process and the design of module interface.4. Proposed a scenario to test our MPLS L2VPN-VPWS system. Analyzed the our results of VPWS function in integrated testing scenario to comprehensively examine the basic function of VPWS system, and to draw lessons to handle such complex problems.
