PWE3(Pseudo-WireEmulation Edge-to-Edge) is a mechanism that emulates the essential attributes of a telecommunications service (such as ATM or FR) over a PSN. Its basic goal is that provides multiple services over a PSN, including TDM electric circuit, SDH, ATM, Ethernet and so on. The PWE3 technology may provide a unified network service platform. And network service business may provide each kind network service of high repayment in this platform, therefore the PWE3 technology is more and more taken by the people. In 2005, PWE3 is evaluated one of ten newest hot technologies in the global telecommunication industry. The required functions of PW(Pseudo Wire) include encapsulating service-specific bit streams, cells, or PDUs arriving at an ingress port and carrying them across an IP path or MPLS tunnel. In some cases it is necessary to perform other operations such as managing their timing and order, to emulate the behavior and characteristics of the service to the required degree of faithfulness.This paper has designed the follow aspects.Firstly, the paper has carried on the analysis to the PWE3 system structure from the network reference model, the protocol layer model and the maintenance reference model and so on several aspects;And analysed PW protocol encapsulation processing in the union of layer model.Secondly, the paper designed the concrete flow of PWE3 control protocol processing in detail. According to the the guiding ideology of the PWE3 protocol and the unceasing experimental improvement in the ATM (Ethernet) PW realization processing, this chapter has gived concrete processing flow of the protocol interactive between PE(Provider Edge) equipments in the process of establishment and maintenance of the PW, and the concrete processing method of the PE equipment received the control protocol package.Thirdly, through thoroughly studying the PWE3 control protocol, has discovered the insufficiency of PWE3 control protocol under the N TO 1 way, and gived the solution which the protocol optimizes. This solution greatly saved processing resources and the precious network band width resources along the PW, and enhanced the hardware speed to retransmit of the PW service.Finally, the paper realizes the PWE3 technology. It has produced the control protocol condition machine, the essential construction of data and the main function. It carry on the exhaustive analysis elaboration of the encapsulation and un-encapsulation of the simulation primitive service which is the essential to realization of PWE3 technology.
