As the valued member of media people, the TV host is one of the occupational groups that attracts most public attention. This occupation is seemingly glamorous, but hides many problems. The increasing TV hosts would like to escape, take job hop, and even change their careers. Besides, it has become a common phenomenon that some TV hosts get depression, sudden death, and commit suicide, which exposes the TV hosts’frustration and disappointment with their own careers. What’s the problem with the career satisfaction of TV host exactly, and what could be the causes? And it becomes a project that needs to be explored urgently.This project applies the self-complied "questionnaire about the TV host’s occupation condition ", and takes the whole TV hosts from Zhejiang Radio and TV Group as an example to launch the investigation. The project mainly uses the questionnaire method to obtain the real and effective data which will be processed scientifically with statistical analysis. In order to make the research comprehensive, the in-depth interview and literature research method are also applied. This study finds that the career satisfaction of TV hosts is ordinary, and they are most satisfied with "the relationship with colleagues", while they are least satisfied with "the schedule and days off holiday mechanism "; the survey shows that the career satisfaction of TV hosts consists of material rewards and spirit rewards, and the spirit rewards satisfaction of the TV hosts who take part in this survey is higher than the material rewards satisfaction. The study also shows that there are many factors impacting on the career satisfaction of TV hosts, such as the difference in personal particulars, including sex, age, education background, and in program elements, including premiere time of the TV program, recording and broadcasting forms. Based on research, the writer thinks that the career satisfaction of TV hosts may be improved from three aspects: respect TV host’s inner aspiration; further enhance the TV host’s material rewards; strengthen the communication and exchange between TV host and the outside to change the audience’s misunderstanding for TV host; perfect the operating mechanism of TV media and organizational culture, and promote the TV host’s sense of belonging of career.
