Along with the swift development of the technology in the information age, media plays more and more vital role in people's daily lives and the social development. Modern college students are the main contacts and active users of the latest media. Their media literacy to obtain, evaluate and spread information shows more and more importance. Strengthening the college students' media literacy education has great strategic significance. That is the important content of implementing quality education in the information age, is the needs to construct modern university culture and is also the necessary requirement to fit future society. The paper analyses the current situation of college students' media literacy using the methods of documentary, comparative research and survey analysis, then proposes the idea of media literacy education with Chinese characteristics and do preliminary exploration. Carrying out the college students' media literacy education actively and widely aims to further develop students ability to adapt to the information society, to increase students participation in market competition, to do self-improvement and all-round development, thus to build the harmonious society.
