Comparing with media literacy of western developed countries which owns long history and increasingly mature, our country's media literacy educational study just commences and fast develops, which is also comparatively lagging behind. Especially for the research results with niche targeting and guiding significance proposed in accordance with our national conditions, it is so comparatively lacking that restrict the the popularization and development of our nation's media literacy education.Undergraduates are in a state of forming view of life, view of world and view of values. They have strong curiosity and acceptance in new things and new phenomena. Mass media would definitely influence them. With increasing competition between media, many media become more and more vulgar. The exaggeration of depicting pornographic violence and criminals cause undergraduates become more vulnerable while facing the flooding mass media. It is a basic skill for undergraduates to manage that know media, choose media, contact media, constantly increase our own understanding and judging ability toward media and cultivate independent thinking ability and the ability of availing ourself of media. So, this study takes undergraduates from6local Wuhan universities as research objects to survey and analyse the situation of media literacy by means of actual evidence research. This article use detailed data to master the current situation of media literacy, look deep into the existing problems and raise some targeted suggestions.Combining our nation's current situation of media literacy education with research results against undergraduates' media literacy and education, we raised5study hypothesis. According to questionnaire survey, we analyse undergraduates' contact behavior toward media, undergraduates'understanding and judgement toward media, undergraduates' critics capability toward media information, undergraduates' moral rules and self control ability toward media, undergraduates' participation and interaction toward media broadcasting and undergraduates' media literacy education and recognition. After analysing in details, we finally prove this study hypothesis.Combining the research conclusion with the insufficient of undergraduates' media literacy situation, this article raise5suggestions. The universities should take first step to commence media literacy education to cultivate undergraduates' independent thinking and judgement; should combine media literacy education with quality-oriented education to enhance appreciating ability; should provide activities platform and guarantee for undergraduates' participating in media practices to enhance interaction in media activities; should further tighten communication with universities, home and society to build up the concept of'whole life education with self education'in order to form undergraduates' media education network; and should also further study the research of undergraduates' media literacy education to raise some media educational theories suitable for our national situation in order to better guide media literacy educational practices.
