The on–board data bus network, which is one of the key components in on-board electronic systems, is used for communication and data exchange between on-board electronic devices. The reliability, speed and flexibility of the on-board data bus network have direct effect on the performance of the whole on-board electronic system.SpaceWire is a full-duplex, bidirectional, serial, point-to-point standard data network, which greatly meets the demand of high-speed on-board data transfer nowadays. It is based on IEEE 1355-1995 and LVDS standard(ANSI/TIA/EIA-644), especially used for space application. It is put forward by ESA in 2003. ESA, NASA and JAXA currently have done much research on SpaceWire. SpaceWire has been successfully applied in many space missions. In this project, a SpaceWire test system based on an intellectual property rights owned SpaceWire Codec IP. The test system which has point-to-point test function contains two parts, hardware and software. The hardware is connected to a computer through the PCI bus. SpaceWire Codec and other control logic are implemented on a pice of FPGA. The software is composed of PCI driver and application software. The data transferred through the SpaceWire link is organized by the software. The SpaceWire link states are reflected and showed in the window on real time. And a lot experiments is designed to test and validate to test system.
