Nowadays, there are large amounts of data to be transferred between various devices and subsystems in Spacecraft. Therefore, a high performance of the spacecraft bus is required. SpaceWire is a point to point, full-duplex, serial, high-speed data bus. SpaceWire router is an important part of SpaceWire network. Also, SpaceWire router simplified link between instruments and increased the reliability of data transmission. The SpaceWire standard and design requirements were described. Then a SpaceWire router was designed including hardware and firmware, software and test. Based on FPGA and self-development SpaceWire router IP, SpaceWire with eight ports was designed. Also, Every link port speed can be up to 200Mbps. SpaceWire router IP was designed by moduler design way. The design way is useful for reducing design difficulty and expanding or reducing function in engineering applications. As host interface of SpaceWire router, USB2.0 facilitated configuration and monitoring by computer. Programmable EEPROM is used as routing table memory. It overcomes the disadvantages of reconfigure routing table after power on and the shortcoming of common EEPROM only being modified by programmer. The function and the performance of SpaceWire router was tested by test software which is completed in Visual Studio 2008 software programming environment. Also, the real-time performance of SpaceWire router was analyzed and the reasons of influencing real-time performance was discussed.Test results show that the SpaceWire router runs well and meets all the function and performance requirements.
