Mine hoist, which is called the vital part of the mine production, is one of the most important mining equipments. It is the only passage fem the mine to the outside and the passage is of great importance to the shift of rocks, materials and working staff. As to the mine hoist, its safety and reliability is of great significance. Many of the traditional mine hoists is week in speed adjusting, and have problems in starting, stopping, breaking and logical controlling, with the development of computer science and PLC technology, advanced electronic controlling technology has been applied in control system upgrading so that the control of the mine hoist has been greatly improved and the automatic level, safety and reliability reached to a new height. And modern managements and surveillance devices are adopted to ensure the safety of the operation of mine hoist.In this thesis the basic requirement of electrical control system is analyzed, the fundamental principles of process control is introduced, how the speed is given is analyzed, and the mathematical model of S-shape curve of speed giving in the process and that of accelerating-decelerating, process and time is deduced, and the appropriate process control algorithm is designed as well. According to the requirement of the control system designing, the control system hardware configuration and relevant peripheral circuit is designed and studied. The mine hoist computer control system is consisted of 5 parts: AC-AC variable frequency speed control system, multifunction digital depth indicating system, main control system, supervisory computer management system and signal system. The mine hoist computer control system can generate automatically the S-shape speed curve, preset the given speed value, and monitor and control the speed, so that the reliability and accuracy of the mine hoists can be ensured and thus its computer control can be realized.
