The research topic involved in this thesis comes from some hull painting plant truing line control engineering project, it is very good practicability and economic value. In the circumstance of the automation technology developing rapidly in both here and abroad, we give up the traditional control mode, with the control mode of "all integration automation", PLC and field bus as the core. It affords a multiple order, exoteric, modular control system made up with computer, PLC and I/O for user which adopts abreast of the times controller, driver, net truss and industrial control.PLC is widely used in industry for its high reliability and performance/price ratio.The configuration software also enjoys fast development due to the popularization of personal computer, and is recognized of the value originated from the merits such as real-time multitasking, openness, flexibility, versatility, and reliability. Fieldbus technology is a distributed, open, interconnection and high dependability technology, which represents the development trend of industrial control system. It is one of the technologies what has attracted more attention in the field of automatic control.Firstly, the article introduces technology characteristics of the hull painting plant truing line treatment and requirements of the control system. Introducing some key technology simply. Then with the truing line control system as the main research objects, we design the overall project. Introducing the application with INTERBUS field bus amply in this system. With the programmable controller Siemens S7-400 and field bus controller IBS S7 400 DSC/I-T being a hardware development platform carry through hardware configuration. With Siemens software STEP7 being a software development platform carry through the programe design. With WinCC6.0 being a software development platform, designing the compact and good practicability monitor interface. Introducing the configuration of CMD which is INTERBUS field bus control software amply. Finally, introducing the field debugging process amply. The thesis mainly empolders a applied control system with high intelligentize, high dependability, low failure probability and good performance/price ratio in order to reduce parking probability in hull painting plant, enhance produce time and enhance the output in hull painting plant. Practice proves that the system comes to an expectant control requirements, and runs well.
