Equipment monitoring is descended form the combination of information network and control network. Through field control network and outer communication network, various measuring control equipments or control systems located in various places are connected, in the hope of realizing remote information interaction among control equipment, accomplishing remote monitor and control mission.WSN technology is capable of detecting multi-parameter, multi-variable continuously in big territory as well as network setup swiftly, which enable it with the ability of monitoring running multi-parameter effectively and successively where are extremely dangerous and specific without man stand-by. It gives an upper-hand while dealing with major pollution event when it comes to precaution effectively and handles timely, proofing to be an effective way to monitor wastewater treatment equipment performance.This paper stems from"Research on key technology of construction of prewarning platform and scientific decision-making for Three Gorges Reservoir Region"(CSTC2006AA7024). To meet the need of monitoring mega current,voltage and flux of facilities, a prototype monitor control system for wastewater treatment equipment is buildup based on WSN technology, including data collection subsystem and backstage monitor control subsystem.The system transmits the data sampled from facility running status to host computer via sensor nodes,while control host computer displays running status for monitoring. Through data processing and analysis, it sends control command to control node, and the remote control function is implemented. It is helpful to provide real-time monitoring data to environment protection bureau, in a way of monitoring running multi-parameter continuously and revealing wastewater treatment equipment real-time status.The mainly results of paper are as follow:1. The Architecture and key technology of WSN and facility monitor system are analysed The possibility of applying WSN into equipment monitor is discussed;2. WSN node is designed according to requirement of wastewater treatment monitor, including control block, data collecting block and wireless communication block. Functions concerning data collection or transform , data analysis and data transmit are realized;3. Through analysis of WSN protocol stack, pinpointing the actual requirement of equipment monitoring and controlling, WSN LLC , network layer and application layer are designed, adopting structure software design idea;4.Backstage control system is designed for equipment monitoring, including control block, data collecting block and wireless communication block. Functions concerning data collection or transform , data analysis and data transmit are realized.
