The traditional monitoring and control system for industrial equipments are used wired network technology with industrial field bus, industrial Ethernet and so on. There are some disadvantages for traditional method:limiting the moving of the industrial equipments, making the network structure not flexible, making the overhaul and maintenance for the system not convenient and increasing the cost of maintenance and wiring. In some special industrial environment, when the industrial equipments need to move, rotate or are in the corrosive environment, it is more difficult to wiring for the wired network. When the demand of the industrial equipment monitoring changes, the wired network need to rewiring. So the adaptability and extensibility of the monitoring system are poor. This paper introduces into the wireless sensor network technology for monitoring, with the advantage of reducing the investment cost, making the network structure flexible, making the modification easy, no wiring, easy to expand, convenient to application and so on. The wireless sensor network system aiming at using in the industrial equipment monitoring was designed.JN5148RF module is used as the main module of wireless communication and processing in this paper. The sensor nodes and gateway were designed in combination with other external circuit besides JN5148. Based on the IEEE802.15.4protocol, the protocol stack of the wireless sensor network was designed for industrial equipment monitoring. The paper focused on the design of the network layer and the application support sub layer.Under the consideration of the real-time, reliability and function extension of the system software, the embedded real-time operating system μC/OS-II was transplanted on JN5148processor which is under the framework of BA2. Considering the requirements of the real-time and reliability in the industrial equipment monitoring network, the Ping protocol in the network layer is designed. The ad hoc network mechanism that when there are abnormal nodes, the system recovers the network automatically and the abnormal nodes report up timely is designed. Based on this Ping protocol design, the neighbor table routing algorithm and the improved AODV,r routing algorithm are presented, which are of small communication delay and reliable data transmission. In order to enhance the maintainability of the network nodes, the function of remote downloading update is designed, which is reliable and supports the breakpoints retransmit. Moreover, in order to make the system flexible and convenient, the embedded web server based on B/S mode is designed, which achieved to monitor the industrial equipment by using webpage.Finally, a testing platform is built to test the hardware and software of the system. When the system testing platform is built, a kind of simple and useful interception node is designed in the wireless sensor network. It is with certain universality in the application. The tests of the ad hoc network, routing, network downloading update using this protocol stack prove that the design of the protocol stack is correct and rational. The test of applying the embedded webpage server displays the great value of B/S mode in the wireless sensor network when it is used in the industrial equipment monitoring. All the test results show that the designed system can meet the needs of industrial equipment monitoring, that is of low cost, easy to expand, convenient to maintain and flexible to apply.
