With the magic development of microelectronics technology, sensor technology, embedded computering technology and communication technology, the Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) which can apperceive, caculate, store and communicate has been produced and developed. The WSN Nodes can work to form a self-organization network, sample, process and transmit the real time data of the area monitored. Research of the WSN gradually gets the focus from the academe and industrial community. It has a great application future in the military and civil area. This thesis gived a method of SO2 area monitoring implement based on WSN technology because of the disadvantages of the traditional monitoring system. After introducing the origin, current research situation and researching node products of the WSN, This thesis selected Westvalley Digital Technology Co.,Ltd's node in the system, analyzed it's hardware and network protocol and tested the nodes. In the course of research and design, this thesis analysed the protocol stack in environmental monitoring application based on WSN. The theory and algorithm of physics layer, data chain layer, network layer and application layer were introduced. This thesis placed emphasis on the system's realization. The SO2 sensor circuit and the information management software (including real time monitoring and data analysis software) of the monitoring center were developed and designed. The monitoring system was tested and Deficiencies of the system were given. This thesis summarized the preceding work finally, looked forward to the development and application in the future of the SO2 monitoring system base on WSN technology.
