A program called "A Ballad Per Week" , which has been bro adcast since 1956, has a struggling course of several decades.From 1956 to the Great Cultural Revolution in China, this pro gram made the golden age of the ballad art of Korean minority in China. During the Great Cultural Revolution, the ballad artwas at its low ebb and until the period of reform and opened up; it flowed actively with the new social development situati on. During the period, this program has broadcast about2000 ne w ballads created by Korean minority composers in different ba ckground of times. Rich language of music vividly showed the p olitics, economy and social life of Yanbian region and spread a lot of new ballads among the people. Such ballads became thepopular songs among many people in Yanbian area and 3 provinc es in the northeast of China and they also spread to the inlan d of our country. Until now some of the ballads have such exub erant vitality that they are considered to be favorite balladssung by many people.Many nostalgic ballads, ballads to express the feelings ofcompatriots, and ballads expressing people' s happiness, ange r, grief and joy have been spread through the media of the pro gram of "A Ballad Per Week" . According to the related materi als, this paper studied the programming of "A Ballad Per Week"and observed the broadcast thread from the very beginning til 1 now. Then it also studied the development of Korean minorityballads by analyzing representative ballads and understood it s changes and wanted to analyze their art characteristics.
