A Comparative Study On The Publicity Activities Of International Archives Day In China And Explore Your Archives Week In The UK

Archives publicity is an important means to improve citizens' awareness of archives,enhance the concept of archives legal system and promote the development of archives.International Archives Day(IAD)is the largest archives publicity activities in China;Explore Your Archives Week(EYA)is the most influential publicity activities in the UK.It is a successful practice to guide the public to participate in publicity activities and raise awareness of archives.The purpose of this paper is to explore the differences and connections between China and the UK in archives publicity activities with different political systems,cultural backgrounds and archives management systems.The publicity activities of IAD in China and the publicity activities of EYA in the UK are the research objects.Taking comparative analysis as the main research method,the research is carried out according to the four basic elements that constitute activities.The first step is to investigate the status quo of the IAD in China and EYA in the UK.Secondly,the research explores the similarities and differences between the target and organization,theme and form,audience and effect of the publicity activities of IAD in China and EYA in the UK,and analyzes the main reasons for the differences.Finally,the author puts forward the enlightenment to the publicity activities of archives in China,that is,to promote publicity and service simultaneously,to cooperate across the archival field,to show the theme characteristic elements and continuously introduce new forms,to meet the different needs of the audience and to measure the effect of publicity activities,in order to enlighten the archives publicity activities in China to a new level.
