SharePoint Based Document Publish System

The heavy increasing documents in modern commercial society midwifery the concept of document sharing and document management platform. In a modern company, the high level manager need to deliver their idea and the new policies to their employees all round the world, while the employees need to access the information they wanted in a convenient and efficient way at the same time. There were numbers of such system which provide the user to share or access the document depository. But they all build on client and server architecture which means if the user wants to use the system, he or she must install the client side software in their local computer. This architecture goes beyond the spirit of the commerce. Fortunately, the developing web technology gives us another solution to fulfill such requirement. Building a system based on the browser and server architecture, we can provide a solution has centralized management and without the constraint of installing the client side software and easy accessed features.In the paper, I analyzed the key technology used in a document publishing system. And I also analyzed about the technical feature of SharePoint platform, together with the usability and advantage of using it to build a document publishing system. At the end of the paper I depict the design of a real document publishing system with high configurable and flexibility feature.
