Mr. Liu Guojun was a famous expert on Library Science, on library, and he also was a library educator in China; he was regarded as one of library science founders in modern China. Mr. Liu had prominent achievements in several fields, such as: library science theory, classification, cataloguing, and philology, the history of literature, history, Pedagogy, and culture. We can say that Mr. Liu was a landmark in modern China's library science. Today, some works which he left still have profound influences in the development of library science.If we research Library Science and library in future, we should study history of library science in modern China and the one-hundred-year's development of library science. While, if we research history of library science in modern China, we should study outstanding figures who promoted the development of modern library science. Mr. Liu Guojun was"the historical personality"in the history of China library science and he was a key to grasp points of modern library science's development.The paper has five chapters. The first is introduction that describes the paper's significances; the second chapter discusses Mr. Liu Guojun's achievements and influences in the field of library science theory; the next chapter introduces the theory and practice in classification, and cataloguing respectively, in particular, the chapter focus on the theory about classification. The fourth is about Mr. Liu Guojun's achievements on philology, the history of literature. The last chapter mainly studies some achievements in the field of history, Pedagogy, and culture. The appendix is Mr. Liu Guojun's chronology which lists his life deeds from year to year for reference.
