Analysis Of 1979-2009 Progress Of Research In China On The Theoretical Systems Of Library Science

The conferences on fundamental theory to library science have been held for five times in China since the foundation of Chinese Library Science Society. This paper takes these conferences as the context and basis of itself. Based on the brief retrospect of these conferences, the various points of view on the theoretical systems of Library Science in China during 1979-2009 are reviewed and evaluated. The research in this period is divided into three stages.â‘ 1979-1990: stage of minds emancipating in academics;â‘¡1991-2000: stage of transforming from traditional Library Science to contemporary Library Science;â‘¢2001-2009: stage of laying a foundation and preparation for new horizon, new theory and new system of contemporary library science.After especially discussing and analyzing the representational viewpoints in each stage, the research results of every stage get overall evaluated respectively. Finally, based on summing up systematically, overall analyzing, and use the academic achievements and the contribution of the researches on Library Science theoretical systems in China during this period for reference, the influencing factors and constructing principles are analyzed for the new vision field, new theory, and new system for the Library Science in the 21st century. At same time, the rough framework of the theoretical system of Library Science in the 21st century is put forward.In the whole discussion of this paper, some research methods, such as method of literature analyzing, comparing method, systemic method, philosophic method, sociology science method, and uniting method of history and logic.There are two goals in this paper writing. The first one is to make some contribution for the research area of Library Science theoretical system. The second one is to lay some academic foundation for author's further study.
