Together with the development of the market, low-end digital cameras have been gradually replacing by cell phones which can take pictures. But the image quality of cell phone camera is not very good; most of mobile phone cameras being sold on Chinese mainland market can take pictures of 300,000 pixels. So the research and development of the 1.3 million-pixel cell phone camera can be significant. The first half of this paper describes the history and development status on this subject, highlighted the role and prospect of the cell phone camera in the information age. It focuses on the performance parameters of selection and optimization process, combining a 1.3 million-pixel cell phone's design.ZEMAX software is used for optimization of whole design. Through repeat the tests and modifications and in accordance with the technical requirements for data analysis, ultimately meet the requirements of the results.
