Cell phone, as a communicative tool turning up into people's lives, has been playing an important role in our communication. Nowadays, with scientific technologies developing at high speed, wireless communicative technology is getting more and more links with people's work, life, recreation, and interpersonal activities. However, the problems brought by it have also attracted plenty of attention from all levels. Meanwhile, the study of Cell phone and its relative fields is increasing fast.Since 1990s when an era of the popularization of cell phone started, with a basic function of communication, cell phone has been promoted widely and greatly. As a result, it has got a huge number of users. With the development of the digital industry and 3G technology, there is more and more entertainment carried through cell phone media, which is not only a new social phenomenon, but also a new direction to which the industry leads.My study is centered on the state of the entertainment related to cell phone media, analyzing the background of this factor's turning up, listing all sorts of phenomena in this field at present, researching the users' motivation, paying attention to the transformation of cell entertainment and the wireless communicative market as well as their links with the cultural industry, and finally, discussing the topic deeply through five major chapters.In the first chapter the writer points out the background of cell phone entertainment, analyzes foreign and domestic studies of it, and proposes the point on which the article is based and the direction of research. That is, he probes into the phenomenon behind cell phone entertainment and the new direction in which the cell digital industry from an angle of "entertainment".In the second chapter, through the analysis of all sorts of cell phone entertainment phenomena, the writer represents the demand for the content of cell phone entertainment brought by a diversification of its forms, and he also demonstrates that the improvement of technologies can push the social function of cell phone to convert from pure communication to various entertainment. And moreover, with an analysis of the features of cell phone entertainment activities, he points out the positive significance of the development of cell phone entertainment in the culture.In the third chapter, from an angle of inter-media, the writer discusses cell phone's function in its interactivities with other media, and analyzes the users' motivation of using cell phones to have entertainment service. He also does some research on the importance of "interaction" when it's used in the revolution of marketing. According to the feature that cell phone has a huge number of users and the new-born "Long-tail" theory in economics, he proposes an idea of exploiting the new business of cell incremental operation.In the fourth chapter, the writer discusses the relations between cell phone and other traditional medias, and puts forward that cell phone can't take the place of other medias. And he also predicts the way of developing the industry of cell phone entertainment based on the analysis of the factors in the market.At last, the fifth chapter is a summary of the whole article. It focuses on the possibility of the joint development of the cell phone entertainment and the traditional cultural industry, and then with the previous research, it explains the significance of paying attention to cell phone entertainment.As a tradition, lots of articles or researchers used to do academic study of the phenomena caused by cell phone from an angle of introducing the development of cell phone technologies or from a macro-scopical view. In the field of public communication, most research centers upon the business of SMS, which is a mature branch of cell incremental operation, but very little upon the road of developing cell phone entertainment. Therefore, this article is supposed to contribute to the transposition of the traditional and new ways people think of cell phones, and to the innovation in the increment of the wireless market.
