At current information age, digitalized data has been increasing at such a high speed, so information query tools has become indispensable tools in daily life. Nowadays, many search engines have appeared on internet, which can provide handy and fast query tools to users. But these search engines built on traditional traditional query technique still can not get rid of their limitation on semantic understanding. Facing the great amount of data, traditional search engines are gradually getting get behind this high speed developing time. Users' demand for intelligentized and semantic query is getting greater than any before.Semantic web technology is proposed now to meet the users' demand and new technology. Query technique based on ontology has some advantages on knowedge description and semantic relation, so it is getting more and more attention and application nowadays.Ontology technology is studied and discussed in this paper. Based on the study on ontology, a query system on EBM (Evidence-Based Medicine) data is designed and realized. In this system, W3C standard OWL is choosed as the OWL description language, RDF/RDFS is the semantic labeling languge, and Jena is as the main tool. Ontology reasoning and data query function is realized in this system, and a semantic query tool is successfully implemented.
