UWB (Ultra Wide Band) communication is a completely new technique which is different from other traditional communication technologies. It utilizes ultra narrow pulses whose single width is less than a nanosecond for data-transmitting instead of carriers, and has a spectrum bandwidth reaches the order of GHz. UWB has just been devoted to public civilian use area, it needs the support of improvement of hardware semiconductors, and brings big challenges to high-speed design software and arithmetic.Taking the equipment of UWB for example, with the rapid development of electronics and integrated circuits technology, it is bounded to be a trend that electronic device's size will be smaller and smaller, whose clock speed will be faster and faster. All these are bringing rigid requirements for the design of high-speed printed circuit board—with the increasing frequencies of signal, problems such as propagation delay, reflection, crosstalk and EMI which were not emphasized enough in the past has been becoming more and more critical. The meanings of this thesis are: on the one hand, providing conclusions and rules for high-frequency circuit design of the UWB transmitter through analysis and functional simulations of the circuits; on the other hand, providing guidance for impedance design of the high-speed PCBs of the transceiver, determining schemes of impedance-matching for on-board layout, therefore insuring the integrity of high-speed signals. This paper illustrated the backgrounds of the thesis as well as the general technology of UWB and the key points in the circuit design of transmitter, and then theories of Signal Integrity were discussed in detail. The simulation softwares ADS and Cadence were introduced later, design flows in those platforms were also given. Finally, on the base of theory analysis, a number of simulations were performed under different circumstances: Firstly, functional simulation results of the transmitter design were illustrated. Secondly, Signal Integrity simulations of the key nets in transceiver were performed. A set of conclusions were given, which helped to guide the transmitter circuit design and...
