| Material, energy, information are three kinds of basic resources that mankind can make use of. Information will be the key resource along with the human society's development. The mount of information obtained through a variety of channels is creasing, with the consummating global information network and the modern means of communication. It is an important subject in the modern information service for library to process and utilize information effectly, even to the utmost value-added. In an overview of the entire course of human information activities, the phenomenon of increment information and its value-added function is everywhere, which contributes one of the most important attributes of information. Information has many important functions such as making their own value added, developing the knowledge, making the economic value-added important function. In theory and practice, it will do well to developing information science theory, instructing library information service, to strengthen the principles of information increment research.This paper discuss the principles of information increment, as well as library information services, comprehensive, systematic and profoundly. This paper includes four parts: Firstly, summarization of the meaning of information increment and information value-add service. It is thought that the information increment refers to the increase of quantity, quality and value in the information activities. Secondly, beginning with the definition, characteristics, and the value, of information and knowledge, analyses the information value chain in the course information value-add. Thirdly, on this basis, further in-depth analysis of the principles of value-added information, and made value-added information technology tools and methodologies; finally library information services types, models, the means and methods are explored. |
