The research finds out the needs that users are not content with and the serviceremains to be improved in the information service market ,in terms of theoretical,someauthoritive research reports,typical research,data material and so on, and based on thedetailed analysis of psychological,behavior information needs characteristics and law inthe network environment, in order to find out the external market opportunity of digitallibrary carrying out electronic commerce service. According to the advantage and traits ofdigital library itself carrying out electronic commerce information service, uses the moremature and feasible solutions in terms of service,marketing notion and technicalrealization of electronic commerce, as well as the successful experience of foreigncountry digital libraries carrying out electronic commerce service for reference, putforward the unique service model adopted by digital library providing electroniccommerce directed by the new service notion, and expounds in detail the specificrealizing ways and service content of every service model. In the last part of the thesis,the author analyses the possible problems and barriers faced by the digital library whencarrying out electronic commerce service and proposes the corresponding countermeasures,suggestions and solutions so as to providing better knowledgeable,professional information products and service, effectively relieves the contradiction of"information flooding" and "knowledge hunger" faced by people in the networkenvironment.
