Design And Implement Of Telecommunication Data Warehouse Web Services

According to the development of Data Warehouse, many telecommunication enterprises have been successfully implemented Decision Support System based on Data Warehouse technology, It is a very important tool for decision processes, and there are a good many requirements to use this tool, not even from the internal of the enterprise, but also from the external of the enterprise. Because the systems in the enterprise are isomerous and tightly coupled, it is difficult to communicate between systems. Now Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) can solve the problem, SOA hides the details of the system, and develops web services that are independent from platforms and programming languages by using a series of protocols and standards. In this paper, author focus on how to provide web services in Data Warehouse. Firstly, author introduce Data Warehouse technology and analyze the applications in Telecom Data Warehouse, then author find two types of applications need to provide web services, they are report and OLAP. Secondly, author studies Web Services and SOA carefully, including the definition and manner of Web Services, and the relationships between Web Services and SOA. Thirdly, based on the research of Web Services, SOA and the analysis of Data Warehouse applications, author work out the system solution of the web services in Data Warehouse, and implement the system. The solution includes two parts, the criterion of packaging the web services of Data Warehouse and the design of Web Services Registry/Discovery System. The criterion is a creative idea. Author imports the Common Warehouse Metamodel (CWM) into the definition of the criterion. Because the metamodel of report and OLAP has been defined clearly, we can use these metamodels to help the definition of data types and messages and operations in the criterion and provide more adaptability and regularity.
