ORDBMS ANGEL-Il integrates mostly advantages of RDBMS and OODBMS, provides the strong capability to describe, store and manipulate all sorts of data type and complex entities , uses a data model integrating NF2 and 00 to support complex objects. This thesis discussed the design and implementation of data warehouse engine system based on object-relation database system ANGEL-LI, which provides the ability to online analytical processing (OLAP) services to applications, effectively deals with abundant multi-dimension datum and calculates mass available information from these datum, effectively supports decision support processing needs. The following aspects are discussed and achieved in the thesis: 1. Analyzing the object-relation support to OLAP 2. Collectivity architecture design for data warehouse engine system 3. Design for system tables to deal with multi-dimension datum 4. The morphology and grammar design for date definition, insert, query language 5. The language management system抯 dealing with date definition, insert, query language 6. The result return to data cube The work discussed in the thesis have been achieved completly based on the UNIX operation system and SUN SPARC workstation.
